H.E. Dr. Ahmed Alkholifey

HE Dr. Ahmed Alkholifey is governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (the central bank of Saudi Arabia). He started his career at the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources as a legal specialist and later served as an economic researcher. Mr. Alkholifey subsequently joined the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority as an economic adviser and director general of the Economic Research and Statistics Department. Later, he was appointed executive director for Saudi Arabia at the International Monetary Fund, after which he was appointed deputy governor for research and international affairs at the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority. Mr. Alkholifey obtained a bachelor’s degree in law from King Saud University and a master in business administration and a PhD in economics from Colorado State University.
